Welcome to Computers and Technology, known as CATS. Successful completion of this course will provide 1/2 tech ed credit required by the State of Maryland. 

Students will: 

  • Interpret, understand and analyze the impact of computers in both the local and global community.
  • Develop computer literacy necessary to utilize related integrated technologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing, handling, and manipulating an integrated software package.
  • Understand the architecture and function of computer networks.
  • Use a computer to communicate with others and do research using databases on a remote computer system.
  • Use current multimedia technology to create professional quality presentations.
  • Assess values, interests, and aptitudes as they relate to career pathways.
How to Get Started: Start by clicking on the unit buttons. Completing them in the order listed will provide you will the skills needed to successfully meet the objectives of this course. Each unit provides instruction, tutorial links, warmups and assignments.
