- It is never too early to begin planning
for college. Now is the time to research colleges, prepare for your
senior year and determine your future.

- Make sure you have taken the ACT or SAT
exams and review your scores.

for information on writing college essays.
- Stay involved in extracurricular activities.
- Begin to think about personal interviews
at your favorite colleges.
- Request applications from the schools you're
interested in by via the Internet.
- Make sure you are registered for relevant
course work, interships or student service learning.
Summer
- Visit campuses of your favorite choices.
- Talk to people you know who have attended
colleges in which you are interested.
- Continue to read books, magazines, and
newspapers.
- Volunteer.
- Develop a financial aid application plan,
including a list of aid sources, requirements, and timeline for
meeting deadlines.
