It is never too early to begin planning for college. Now is the time to research colleges, prepare for your senior year and determine your future.

Areas of focus need to be:

Spring

Make sure you have taken the ACT or SAT exams and review your scores.

Stay involved in extracurricular activities.
Begin to think about personal interviews at your favorite colleges.
Request applications from the schools you're interested in by via the Internet.
Make sure you are registered for relevant course work, interships or student service learning.

Summer

Visit campuses of your favorite choices.
Talk to people you know who have attended colleges in which you are interested.
Continue to read books, magazines, and newspapers.
Volunteer.
Develop a financial aid application plan, including a list of aid sources, requirements, and timeline for meeting deadlines.
